Jimmy Butler joins the Philadelphia 76ers!

I am happy for Jimmy because the 76ers are a good team and with him, they will be even better. He is teaming up with Ben Simmons and Joel Embid. These two can be All Stars, both very skilled and talented players. Joel Embid is the embodiment of the modern day big man. He rebounds well, a good shot blocker, can score in the post, defend in the post, the biggest difference? He can shoot the three. I would rank Joel Embid second best center in the NBA behind none other than Anthony Davis. Joel is averaging 26.4 points, 1.8 blocks, 3.5 assists, 13.3 rebounds on 50.3% shooting. Very impressive numbers so far this season.

Ben Simmons a 6’10 point guard with good court vision, excellent ball handling, can score from anywhere and is also a smart player. Ben is averaging 15.9 points, 1.4 steals, 9 rebounds and 55.4% shooting. Most likely he would have to bring up his scoring a little more in order to be considered an All Star but he certainly is capable of doing exactly that!

Now there’s Jimmy Butler, very good player on defense and offense. Can score from anywhere and is one of the best perimeter defenders and defensive players in the NBA. I am and always will be a Chicago Bulls fan. The Bulls drafted Jimmy and so I saw him come into the League known as a defensive player, locking down opposing stars and not long after he made the regular rotation he began to show that he can score. Fast forward to today, Jimmy is a 4 time Allstar and averages 21.3 points, 1 block, 2.4 steals, 4.3 assists, 5.2 rebounds and shooting 52.5% from the field. Jimmy Butler has been a top 10 player in the NBA for quite sometime already, rare to find players that can defend and score very well.

The 76ers seem to be a complete team, they have shooters, scorers, slashers, player makers, rebounders, shot blockers. Their young, athletic and now have star power. The biggest question mark is the coach. Brett Brown has seen some success outside of the NBA. Had his first winning season finishing 52-30 in the east. Brett inherited the team deep into its rebuilding years. Brett was Greg Popovich’s assistant and was a member of the Spurs four Championship wins. I consider Greg Poppovich to be the greatest coach in NBA history but that’s another story.

Bottom line is 76ers are a dangerous team and I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out of the east. But the season is still young and so is this team. So we will see.
